Short answer

Unilateral termination requires an applicable contractual or statutory ground. Changing one’s mind is not always enough. Termination, withdrawal and invalidity have different conditions and effects.

Practical example

A service is substantially unperformed while the contract remains active. A written demand and additional remedy period may be needed before ending it.

What to do

Check grounds, notice and cure periods. Calculate performance, refunds and loss. Assess good cause separately for continuing relationships; stopping payment without justification may itself breach the contract.

Legal basis

Georgian Civil Code — Articles 352, 399, 405, 407. Checked on 28 October 2026. The outcome depends on the contract, facts and evidence.
