Short answer
Where a deadline was agreed, the creditor’s wishes alone are insufficient. The Code permits immediate demands where the borrower’s financial position materially worsens, threatening repayment. Special contract terms and their legality also matter.
Practical example
The borrower disposes of assets and loses solvency. This differs from the lender simply needing money sooner.
What to do
Collect concrete evidence, check the deadline and breach conditions. State the basis in the demand and retain delivery proof. Rumours or personal conflict alone do not establish repayment risk.
Legal basis
Georgian Civil Code — Articles 627, 626. Checked on 28 October 2026. The outcome depends on the contract, facts and evidence.
