A transfer proves money moved but not necessarily that it was a loan. It may be a purchase price, gift or other payment. Its description and consistency with other evidence matter.
Practical example
The statement says only transfer, while messages acknowledge a three-month loan. The combined evidence must be assessed.
What to do
Obtain the full statement and agreement-related messages. Identify the recipient and on whose behalf payment was made. For new loans, state the contract date or number and loan purpose in the transfer description.
