Short answer

Spouses may amend or terminate their marital agreement by mutual agreement. Unilateral withdrawal is not permitted. Court adjustment of extremely disadvantageous terms requires grounds and evidence.

Practical example

One spouse is effectively deprived of almost all property opportunities. A signature alone does not always exclude court scrutiny.

What to do

Obtain the agreement, amendments and evidence of signing circumstances and finances. Distinguish consensual amendment, invalidity and judicial adjustment.

Points to consider

Later regret alone should not be treated as sufficient to undo the agreement.
