Short answer
Coercion may justify a challenge, including threats from third parties or against relatives. The threat’s reality, nature and personal circumstances matter. Not every unpleasant negotiation amounts to legal coercion.
Practical example
Someone is forced to transfer an apartment under threats to a family member. This differs from a creditor’s lawful warning of court action.
What to do
Prioritise safety and contact the appropriate service if threatened. Keep messages and witness details. The one-year challenge period runs from coercion ending; assess the exact date and other claims with a lawyer.
Legal basis
Georgian Civil Code — Articles 85–89. Checked on 28 October 2026. The outcome depends on the contract, facts and evidence.
