Distinguish assignment of a claim from transferring the whole agreement with its remaining obligations. If the new buyer also takes over instalments, a two-party receipt may not fully regulate relations with the developer. Check consent and transfer-fee clauses.

Practical example

The first buyer paid half the price. The new buyer acquires rights and plans to pay the balance; the change of obligor must be clearly documented.

What to do

Prepare the agreement, annexes, payment history and debt confirmation. Check registered rights. Include the third party in the agreement where their consent is required to transfer the relationship.
