Short answer
Email may establish agreement and provide evidence, but essential terms, authorship and mandatory form determine the result. An ordinary email does not always satisfy special notarial or registration requirements.
Practical example
A supplier sends a priced offer and the customer accepts unconditionally. That differs from a draft requiring later signature.
What to do
Keep complete emails, attachments, sender details and final consent. Establish the company representative’s authority. Check electronic-signature legislation where necessary.
Legal basis
Georgian Civil Code — Articles 69, 327, 328. Checked on 28 October 2026. The outcome depends on the contract, facts and evidence.
