Short answer
Cohabitation alone does not create the property regime of a registered marriage. Claims may nevertheless arise under a contract, co-ownership or another legal basis if the prerequisites are proved.
Practical example
One partner contributes to an apartment registered to the other. A repayment or ownership-share claim depends on the money’s purpose and evidence of agreement.
What to do
Keep transfers, correspondence, joint-purchase agreements and expense records. Define both parties’ shares before future purchases.
Points to consider
Living as a family and proven participation in an acquisition are distinct facts. There is no automatic conclusion that half belongs to you.
