Short answer

When further property is discovered, whether the inheritance was accepted is important. Actual acceptance of part counts as acceptance of the whole, but title to an asset and its inclusion in the certificate require additional records.

Practical example

An heir accepts an apartment and later discovers the deceased’s savings. This does not itself create a new, separate opening of the estate.

What to do

Give the notary the existing certificate and evidence of the new asset. Check co-heirs’ shares and restrictions.

Points to consider

If acceptance is disputed or title was not in the deceased’s name, later discovery alone does not resolve those issues.
