Short answer
An inheritance may be accepted through a representative. Being abroad does not itself suspend the six-month period, so start preparing documents early.
Practical example
A child living abroad authorises a representative in Georgia to apply for acceptance and collect the certificate, without granting sale powers.
What to do
Agree the power of attorney and application form with the notary. Prepare relationship and death records and establish how foreign documents must be authenticated.
Points to consider
Acceptance, refusal, division and sale are different powers. Authority for one does not automatically include the others.
