Short answer

Making a will abroad requires checking its form, personal expression of wishes and use in Georgia together. Having Georgian property does not automatically make any foreign text acceptable.

Practical example

A Georgian citizen living overseas leaves a Georgian apartment to a child. The signing location, form and international rules need assessment before preparation.

What to do

Prepare nationality, residence and property details. Agree the form with the authorised person abroad and the receiving Georgian notary.

Points to consider

Recognition also involves private international law. This article does not establish the validity of a particular country’s form.
